Round 10 - Making Footy Fun

24 Jun 2023 by Tod Brealey

Hello Bombers

I hope that you are all enjoying the sunshine. This week is the last round before our winter recess.

Draw
I have had a few questions about the draw, it is nearly finalised, but there are challenges across multiple age groups and the AFL is working out the fixture due to ground availability. As an example, due to limited green space, we are hosting Cronulla and Bangor home games this week. It is great that so many kids are playing AFL.
I will post an update when the final update is provided by the AFL. Thank you for your patience.

Officials and Spectator Behaviour
AFL Sydney juniors have sent another reminder this week that there is a continuing trend of poor behaviour from match officials and spectators across all age groups.
AFL Sydney Juniors has zero tolerance towards poor behaviour from players, officials and spectators and any poor behaviour will be dealt with through the disciplinary process.
While the bombers are doing okay, this is a good reminder for all of our players, coaches, volunteers and spectators that there is a Code of Conduct for everyone to adhere to at AFL Sydney Juniors matches.

Remember – this is a game and the kids are there to have fun!

When I received this message, I was reminded of a Will Ferrell film that was released before many of our players were born. The films trailer highlights that parents and carers set the right tone for community sport. https://youtu.be/uhVqNhOKVws

I hope that you can all enjoy the footy this weekend before we enjoy two Sundays off with the school holidays.

Best regards

Tod
