It has been another massive week of footy.

It started with the retirement of Swans (and Hawks) superstar Buddy. As a club, we have benefited from the Buddy effect and players giving AFL a try due to the interest that he has created.

Last night the Swans AFLW team had their jumper presentation in preparation for their season kick-off on 3 September against the Giants.

Tomorrow night there is the ‘Battle of the Bridge’ between the Swans and Giants. This game highlights how respectful competition between two clubs can draw people to AFL. Both teams remain in finals contention and it will be a cracking game.

Also, we had the Matildas winning and progressing to the round of 16. Too much sport!

It will be a massive weekend for the bombers, including our key fundraising Good for Footy event at club sponsor Kareela Village on Saturday and Sunday (thank you Sabrina for coordinating)

Our Treasurer Mike has confirmed that netting will be installed for the southern end goalpost in the second week of September. It will be good to go for the preseason training.

The bombers are taking over Club Sponsor Kareela Village to sell tickets. There are some spots available, please go to the following link and sign players or families up to help their club out. Also, please do not delay selling your 20 tickets. There are club prizes for players and teams who sell the most tickets. I was told if you need to buy lemons then you need to make more friends! At the Hangar on Sunday I will drop in a few bucket loads of lemons from my house before the possums devour them. I hope you all can continue strengthening connections and friendships at the footy this week.
