Hello Bombers
What a season we have had, and there is more to come.
We have many teams from the u9s and u10s participating in Gala Days tomorrow and we also have six teams playing in finals.
This week the Country realised something that the bombers already knew, girls are exceptional athletes.
I wanted to acknowledge two teams whose season concluded last weekend, the u12 Girls and u12 Boys (photos above). These teams are phenomenal playing groups. The records will show that they were not premiers, they are both Champion Teams.
With the way divisional footy works in Sydney, they were placed in a grade at the start of the year where they were winning. They could have remained in this grade and been playing finals this weekend.
Our DNA as a footy club is not about premierships, we want to create an environment and support players to be better footballers and people.
The committee, the coaches and managers from these teams advocated the AFL for these teams to go up a grade.
The different grades provided the right development opportunity for the players to improve their skills and identify what they needed to strengthen, it shaped their character and helped them to learn how to be humble winners and gracious losers (and their parents and carers were excellent supports as the players navigated the different emotions that sport evokes).
Both teams had a brilliant year and went into round 15 with a chance to qualify for finals.
Thank you u12s for demonstrating the bomber’s values of Inclusion, Respect, Fairness and Enjoyment, and for your teamwork and discipline to improve over the season on and off the field. You should be incredibly proud of your 2023 season.

Congratulations to the following teams who are playing finals this weekend. If you are free, please come along and support these teams.
I appreciate it is a big ask for families to be at Ingleburn at 8:30 with me if you could make it to the Hangar at 1 PM for the u16 girls’ game, this team is seriously good and has been for many years. All these teams have great support, if you are free please ‘don the sash’ and come out and show your support.
