Bomber's Olympians - Special event on Sunday - Good for Footy

9 Aug by Tod Brealey

Hello Bombers,

I have had difficulty focussing on football with the Olympics, there is still more to come.

One of our u17 players Telaya Blacksmith (also a premiership player and Swans academy member) is flying off to Paris to participate in the 400m and the long jump at the Paralympics. The attached photo is of Telaya and 1995 Miranda Bomber Premiership player and two-time Olympian Craig Stevens (also U13 dad). This is a brilliant article about Telaya https://sportinclusionaustralia.org.au/2024/07/19/telaya-blacksmith-paralympian/

If you are free on Sunday, please come down to the hangar at 12:45 as we do a mini celebration for Telaya, and also recognise some of her u17 teammates who are wearing the sash for their last game. There would not be a youth girls program at the Bombers if not for this impressive group of young women (who have been assisted by Gillian, Lisa and Derek over the last 4 years).

If you are able to, could you also support the good for footy raffle. The additional drainage will be installed on the ground in the off-season and any money raised from the raffle will provide the bombers with some contingency if the costs for the club slightly increases. https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/mirandabombersafc

I hope that this weekend can be a celebration, of the friendships that have been strengthened, the skills that have improved the resilience that has been built if we don’t qualify for finals and may the excitement build in the teams who are playing finals next weekend.

Let’s have a great weekend of footy,

Go the Bombers

Tod
